Finished the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu yesterday morning. We were treated to a pouring rain the last few miles of the hike, but our group were the first that day to reach the fabled city. Later the Sun burned off the clouds and we were treated to a great day following four great days. The hike was long and arduous. I never humped a pack that hard when I was in the Rangers. But, what a great time!
Cooled our heels in Cuzco today. Tomorrow we are out of here to the Amazon River for a couple days , then back to the States. Over 600 pictures taken. Next week will begin to post. Gotta pick the best of the best.
I would do this again tomorrow ... Justlet the quads ease up.
